Loud Tapping Noise

I have a VY commy 2004. It has 245 on the clock. Recently i’ve been having this issue where everytime I start the car it has this loud tapping sound that stays on idle and gets louder on acceleration. The noise is fairly new and has been doing for couple weeks. The noise goes away after the car warms up. I have taken the car to mechanics and they have told me to get rid of the car without even diagnosing it. I haven’t got the money to go buy a new car in this current time. Find a new mechanic for starters.

where about on the engine is the noise coming from?

When was the last oil change?

What grade oil?

What does the oil look like?

Chances are it's a noisy lifter which although annoying isn't going to kill the engine but it would be something that you'd want to fix.
