ls1 engine things to do when engine is out

hey guys just wondering if someone could tell me or point me in the right direction with engine mods.
basically im pulling my engine out to shave my bay so just need to no if there is a few cheapish things i could/should do to my engine whilst it is out of the car.
i thought this way would be better due to the fact that i kno things are easier to replace when engine is out.

any help will be greatly appreciated cheers

nothing as of yet im loosing my licence so im taking it off the road but my plans for the bay will be relocate battery, fuse box, abs module, all wiring hidden as much as possible so yeah really just like for an example the engine comes out is there certain things to replace that are good and will be more effective ?

If theres any leaks in the areas of the following gaskets replace them while its out:

Sump duh: Sump gasket
Oil leaking through the hole between engine and gearbox : Rear plate gasket and rear main seal
Leaks at front of engine: Timing cover gasket

sweet man cheers very helpfull just the reason being is that i kno it would be 100 times easier to do those things whilst engine is out haha anything else you can think of ?

do extractors while its out would be so much easier, might as well get radiator flushed out to get rid of any scale build up, if its done a few kms maybe time for a new water pump that sort of thing...

For looks only spraypaint block to match color of car, much easier to do while its out, and a bit of engine detail.
