ls1 erratic/weak 4th to 3rd auto kickdown....

Bring back Kickdown cables...lol 2001vx .... kicks down well 3rd to 2nd... 2nd to first... but 4th to 3rd is erratic....however if I take the airfilter out, it kicksdown 4th to 3rd on demand every screaming time...lol, thoughts anyone....standard air filter....should I fit a better air filter?... no error codes showing... cant drive around without an airfilter...anyone recommend a good filter...

Yep... standard airbox...filter is about 2 years old...maybe your right ..will try a new airfilter. Current filter looks ok and oil staying clean...but maybe its time to switch it out... Im slightly wondering if its a fuel/ air ratio setting relative to speed if such exists , engine/trans really responsive without the air filter....will replace filter and just let it be....old rule if its not broken dont fix it...lol
