Well i have just got myself a LS3 R8 clubsport tourer and i love it. I will be getting a full 3'' system and OTR. Now my question is about after market intake manifolds, are they worth the money?. Most people have seen the LSX Fast manifolds, they seem to cost a lot for a small gain. I have come a cross a few different types on eBay and i was just wondering if they just for a waste of money with no real gains. Here are a few.

Chevrolet Holden LS3 L92 Fabricated Aluminium Intake Manifold 87mm | eBay

I love the look of this one and I'm very interested in it.
Chevy LS3 Down Draft EFI Stack Intake Manifold System Complete Satin | eBay

Holley EFI LS Intake Manifold Chev Holden LS3 L92 6 0L 7 0L HO300 117 | eBay

You might have to slam your bonnet down really hard, with any of those manifolds...:yahoo:

Mate of course you don't need them, ever. Sure the high rise ram will get the weighty wagon on its keel but bits will stick out your bonnet like a bear in a leotard. Then again you are looking to strap an oversized untuned tailpipe out the back so whatever floats your boat, you may as well have a few pipes hanging loose out the front to complete the look.
Especially with a Gen IV wagon, you need to speed the intake velocity and introduce tumble and swirl to the chamber at normal operating range not slow it down 90% of the time just to get more more air flow at peak RPM.
Don't waste your money on that, plan mods to suit the car and driving style.

I think i will just stick to headers, good exhaust system, OTR and a good tune

i use a fast on my ls3, they are very flimsy and can be hard to tune in. while i didnt gain much in horsepower with it, i did gain alot of torque. for the money, yea they are expencive, but what isnt these days in go fast parts . if i was to get another id be strongly concidering the msd airforce, they seem more robust and have heard good feedback on them.

Just had quick look at them, they look good. I might have to save the $$

Remember all new commodore v8's come with DBW throttles so unless your going to convert yours to cable the down draft manifold won't work

I you are hell bent on changing the manifold, I would go the Harrop throttle body system. At least it works.
