The head is a VS head stock ports still. The cardbourd on it is the finished sive on the heads on the VS I,ve been driving with the Auto trans for the last couple of years. It went great but now its conversion time to manual to get that power going even better.

I'll re organize the pics in the morning and give more info. Maybe start a thread with it. Being a noob I wasn't quite ready to do my own thread.

Plus I cant find where to start the thread button yet???????

The pic showing the bush from the front of the engine back gives you the insight of using the thread bar and socket idea to press the nedw needle bearing in.
This bush is still spot on though and the engine did possibly near 250 to 300,000ks. Clock was dead so who knows.

I'm planning on using a jaw type puller maybe to get my front bearing off, from what you said the last time you took one it wasn't too hard to get off?

So Custom for the rear bush bearing you say you don't recon they'd wear much on the VS,and wouldn't contribute to noise/harshness/vibration much? Just the front?

The front bearing should tap off very easily. But a puller will work too.
The balance shaft also comes out easy. By hand even unless you have alot of carbon build up.

I'm very lucky as the lathe is actually my neighbours lathe.
So its free access with no $3000 outlay for the machinery. He's a great neighbour to have :)

The flywheel came up great. I even put a micrometer up to it to check that id didn't have the wobbles.
I was a bit worried as it had a slight movement to it. About a 1mm.
So I removed it and put the VS 8 bolt on. Checked that and found it did the same anyway which made me think it's most likely the cranckshaft causing it and is also likely to classed as "within tolerance"
1mm at outside diameter is a bee's wisker in at the crank.
I like coming up with my own costless alternatives.
