must of been converted from auto to manual?
Hope not , I need someone with a manual vy ss to see if they have that fuse as well I'm hoping it's just the same fuse box for all vy ss comodores

The Trans code on the build plate will tell what it left the factory with.

A quick google shows the following (merican) data:

T56 (MM6 - GM Spec) Transmission Specifications
Type: Tremec T56 (MM6) Rear wheel drive, six-speed manual transmission
Engine Range: 5.7L
Maximum Validated Engine Torque: 385 lb-ft
Gear Ratios:
First: 2.66
Second: 1.78
Third: 1.30
Fourth: 1.00
Fifth: 0.74
Sixth: 0.50
Reverse: 2.90
Maximum Validated Gross Vehicle Weight: 1680 kg (w/passengers & luggage)
Case Material: Aluminum

So you have a factory 6 speed manual behind your V8… which you already knew :p

But have you had the car since new? assuming not

May be the previous owner changed the fuse box cover if not the complete fuse box and used bits from an auto?

Also what the fuse protects depends on fuse position but IIRC, what the fuse protects for a given position changes between VY series I and VY series II and presumably between auto and manual.

So more info needed around the vehicle history and the specific fuse position that confuses you, pics would be helpful so the VY commodore “train spotters” can help. Those train spotters within the forum would know what series it is from the June 04 build date. Those same train spotters would then be able to tell you what that fuse position connects to in vehicles with different transmissions and within different series. Ah, the permutations and combinations…

But I‘d also look at the fuse box layout and check each fuse position has the correct colour wire and protects the correct circuit for your build just in case some PO numpty has borked a fuse box change and you have a hybrid hodgepodge that makes future fault finding a PITA.

Best if you look for an unmolested VY manual and take some pics of the fuse boxes and if possible the rear of the fuse boxes (the hard bit) so you can then check against what you have.

Sorry I can’t help further.

[edited to add explicitly state factory rather than it being implied]

Confirms it is factory manual and not converted from auto which is a start.

Then see @Skylarking 's comment.

According to the tags it's factory manual the code is mm6 ? It's just weird there's an auto trans fuse there. I found it trying to locate a fuse for the reverse lockout solenoid as it's a pain trying to select reverse.
