Step 1. Aussies learn how to yield to faster traffic without getting into a tizz about self importance.

Step 2. Make the Hume an Auto Bahn.

Step 3. Get in a ******* fast car

Step 4. Get to Sydney in 4hrs while wearing brown trousers.

I don't think you will go very far before being pulled over by the Police and instantly being thrown into jail :D

Or maybe the government could pull its finger out of its arse and finally build high speed rail so you can do 400kph while you’re playing candy crush!

The Sydney to Melbourne flight route is one of the busiest in the world and it doesn’t even need to exist! With zero carbon emissions being the name of the game ATM converting the Sydney to Melbourne route (and later the Sydney to Brisbane route) to high speed electric rail is a deadset no brainer.

But seeing as Canberra has zero brains we will no doubt be still arguing about it in 2050. An electrified rail also provides another power distribution backbone along the east coast as electric rail doesn’t just consume electricity it transmits it along its length!

Changing political parties doesn’t answer the problem.

High speed train? How do we keep roos and emus off? Cows? Oooff. There’s a recipe for a large train derailment.

Rail without doubt, fast rail.
We have used Shinkansen in Japan, and the very fast rail in Italy.
Trains arrive on time, boarding takes all of a couple of minutes and off you go at 300 kilometres per hours.
Faster in Japan.
Animals are simply kept out with fencing.

As someone who drives the Hume daily, let me know how you fair when hitting all the potholes at 150km/h+

Trains in Japan use animal sounds broadcast to keep deer off the tracks.
Also, can you derail a train that technically isn’t on rails?

Fencing and an arrow shaped bull bar. Skippy would become sashimi in 0.05 seconds with minimal disturbance to the train.
