As most of us know , VP/VQ AC evaporators are now impossible to find.

Given the cost of replacing an evaporator I didn't want to use a second hand unit so Pasino Radiators in Brunswick cut the mounting flange off my old VQ evaporator and welded it to a VR/VS item using especially fabricated aluminum headers. The VQ suction line has a low bend acting as some kind of a trap which is not present in the VR piping-I don't know why it is there but it was replicated anyway.

Cost of having the evaporator repiped was $198, which is not a lot in the overall scheme of things.

I love it. The best bit is that you’ve used local business and local skills to do it. Good work posting the follow to this.
