just wondering, if I was to change the stock muffler on the sv6 vf and put in an after market one would that give me a deeper/louder sound?

Depends on the type of muffler.
You probably get a louder sound, but I highly doubt you'll get a deeper sound.
V6's aren't known for deeper sounds. They mostly end up sounding like lawn mowers.

Any in particular you recommend/prefer?

do a full system, that way it can be tuned - very hard to get a good sound out of the V6 imo and even the ones people say "sound good" aren't always.

Just a muffler will either sound the same or worse.
