Last week I bought a second hand LSD to put into my car. I decided to give it a quick strip down and rebuild and paint before I installed it in my car.

I found a few interesting this along the way.

The diff had discs and a retaining clip for one of the hand brake shoes had snapped causing the brake shoe to float around and hit on the axel.

I have never seen a brake shoe so badly damaged. It really surprised me the previous owner never noticed. :bang: The interesting thing was it was rubbing on the back of the wheel studs. causing the backs to be badly warn, to the point of neary warn off.

It would have been rather scary to have a rear wheel depart company from the car if it had been left too much longer.

So looks like I wont get it completely back together untill I get another set of brake shoes.
