Hey all,
My 1st V8 was '72 HQ Premier Wagon.
Special order from GMH at Fishermans Bend
I was it's 2nd owner (my brother had it from new).
Factory 5.0L 308, factory M21 4 Speed, factory Salisbury 3.08 LSD.
Daily driver, and it owed me over $40K by the time I was doing the show circuits.
Drove it to Perth and back in the '80s hence the tall diff.
Those were the days:
"Super" petrol was 40c a litre.
WTF were "demerit points?"
Amphometers were the latest in hi-tech Police speed entrapment equipment.
.0-pissed was legal.
Carburettors, distributors & BF Goodrich T/As - remember those?
Bumper bars were made from real steel so you could actually bump without doing $3000 worth of plastic panel damage.
RWCs were done over the phone.
Lonsdale Street Dandenong Saturday night drags (ok, some things will NEVER change)
Always been a V8 manual Wagon man, always will be.
Cheers. :beer chug:
