For the larger cars = e.g. commodores , even the Focus fits into /use need the BL- 5000EXT
The BL-5000SLX can lift 2,268kg to a platform height of 447mm (+ thickness of whatever pad you use) so it’s not a weight issue :p

But it seems the main difference is that the SLX is a bit shorter @ 1778mm verses the EXT’s 1905mm. I guess the SLX doesn’t stretch between the commodore’s jacking points between the wheels. I’ll have to measure that distance at some time just to see how much it misses.

Thanks for the heads up

You can also go with the SLX and a pair of extensions.

Lots of info in an SS forum thread here:

Went through this with Quick Jack Aus as until I did the measurements wasn't sure if the EXT one was going to be too big for the Focus.
The SLX was a couple of hundred $ less than the EXT but the extensions to turn an SLX into a EXT are almost another $900.
They want $220 for the seam weld/ pinch weld blocks .
I'm not sure yet if I'm going to get them.

Those ebay pinchweld pads in post #40 are cheap and easy to use, allowing you to use the regular rubber blocks.

Well the other week I jacked the car up , took the front wheels off and then had this niggling feeling so went and opened the boxes WTF =again = see post #33 , this time around I have two LH shocks.
So phone calls again and finally got one of each and correct for my car.

So finally the other day ripped the old shocks out , bugger me that's not as easy as doing commie shocks.

Didn't get too carried away but did clean in the wheel wells and parts of the strut assemblies that were being re-used.
Repacked/greased the strut top bearings. Didn't get new ones = they wanted astronomical $ so decided to see what they'd be like.
They don't look like they get damaged/compress like commodore ones do.

So it's all back together and being used again.

Next will need to get two new tyres and a wheel alignment.

Well back in early Jan posted in my maloo thread had hoped to use for this ( only the second overnight / weekend stay away in 2 years of covid shxtstorm ).
Too hot = no aircon =working in Maloo !!
So this got the duty.
NO brainer = thinking what the missus would say!!!
7 litres per 100km with the aircon going the whole time ( around 400kms ) and ,well, yes , not always obeying!!
Also =why cxxts sit under the speed limit but as soon as an overtaking lane = they're jack rabbit==totally useless ahole cxxts!!!!
Sorry for rant = still a fantastic overnight stay= totally worth it.
Not cheap, although ( I think not super expensive).
Weekend stay more expensive but breaky included.
Fantastic room /cabin/ overlooking private part of beer garden.
Food to die for, not just air aged meats but the vegies as well = great.
Had a rump steak for dinner = fantastic , even the desserts but even the pork sausages and bacon for breakfast= heaven ( I"m drooling thinking and trying to describe.
Will definitely be going back and even pre -ordering take homes from the the butcher next time !!!
Also a couple of craft beers on the night = the Aether I brought up with me.

about to pass 96000k over Easter= about 9 months ago =about to pass 91k =post #31=Jul 2021
====I need to contact Shannon's !!!?==about/under 10k a year.

Anyway back at post #43 I said Quick Jax AUS = pinchweld blocks = $220 Aus = from Quickjax AUS.

I had looked over this time =ebay/etc = cheap /not the same/wondered how they'd go/fit ETC !!!

I ordered yesterday from Quickjax Blocks = delivered =just over $192.

I have used the normal blocks but wonder / guess long term damage of the blocks would result!!

I rang Shannons today = it's now on limited use.
See how I go with use but on paper ( insurance use ) with this , 2 Holdens and the Buell = easily have an average weekly use of 5 days !!
Also ( a bit more peeved= bought at a good price = insured for agreed value (ATT) but then it's been de-valued over this time )
Even though prices have gone up
For sale ( yeah I know it's carsales ) ,but
= lowest mileage LW ST = almost 5k kms more = Asking $18990
Lowest price = $1500 asking price more for a year older with 44k kms more than what's mine is insured for !!!

It's now insured on limited use and a more reasonable / reflective currant value.
And for an overall insurance ( 4 wheeled ) total cost of over $11 a month LESS.
I'm certainly happy with that last part !!!!

Your agreed value is unusual, considering when I asked about mine, Shannons looked up cars of similar modifications/condition etc etc that were for sale and made their call based on that...

They didn't ask me mileage, but that may have been because I mentioned it had a new motor put in....Mine was for continual use, rather than limited also.

So very strange indeed

Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining.
And while it was I think a good price ATT, the market and to some point demand has moved on.
It was a true daily at the time of purchase = go anywhere =24/7
Now while I consider a daily = that's not 24/7 anymore = and is not used that way.
This is still a reasonably modern performance vehicle that P platers can overall access and therefore it holds it's value.
