2009 VE MY10 INTERNATIONAL COMMODORE V6 PORTSWAGON
I have just spoilt myself and finally now own a VE Black Sportswagon...im very chuffed with myself

To me she is the flashest car i have ever owned in my life and i enjoy driving her. I am hoping that in joining the forum, as suggested by my mates, that I get to take care of her.
Now that I've finished sounding like a "bimbo twit"...also suggested by my mates...i will now ask the weirdest question......as its the only way I am going to learn...
How do I know if she is an Ecotec or Alloytec?

Any help would be greatly appreciated , Thanks

Just don’t get slack on services those engines are notorious for sludge buildup, do it every 7500 with good quality oil and u should be fine

Check check check your books that came with the car that all services are up to date or required soon.
i.e. Oil change using quality 5-30 oil every 9 months maximum or 7,500 kms. Including oil filter.
Coolant change every 5 years and it MUST be red in colour.
Brakes to be flushed every 2 years.
Air filter. Spark plugs change as per the books. Perhaps 100,000 kms
Plenty more to learn and absorb by reading your books from front to back.
Good luck. Sounds like a nice car, so keep it nice PLEASE.

2010 VE1.5 SV6 Ute
You've got an Alloytec, and more importantly you have an LF1 alloytec. Keep that in mind when you're looking for parts. Should share alot with the LLT.

I've got an MY10 SV6 ute for reference.

As all the others have said, follow a strict service regimen and you should be golden!
