What a weekend. So, todays effort.

I found a bit of rust yesterday in the L/H sill (under the chrome scuff plate) when i was stripping the paint off with the wire wheel. I cut that out this morning and welded in some new steel. Also found a tiny hole on the R/H A pillar/sill so i welded that up. Then i/we (my old man has been giving me a hand this weekend) stripped off some more paint and wire wheeled some surface rust in the hatch shut, deoxadined the entire body and epoxy primed it.

It was great today to see the car in nice metal and not keep finding more and more rust (apart from the sill).

Primed and back on it's wheels so i could move it out and clean the shed:

So there it is. Ready for filler work and finishing off the body. I have 1 more bit of rust to fix around the front screen that i found yesterday, but considering some of the rust repairs i've performed on this car, it's very minor lol.

That front guard and nose cone in the pics are finished ready for hi fill.

Is it just me or do cars look ultra tough in primer? I hope it looks that tough when it's painted :p.

Still heaps of work to go, but yes, starting to really see light at the end of the tunnel. Trust me, i'm looking forward to the finish line aswell.

Sif' a UC dash conversion, this is an LX now not a UC lol.

So, just a bit of engine porn...

Everything cam related. For $750 odd landed, you can't really go wrong. This is a good reason why i decided to build a Chev, all that would be about 3x the price if it was for a Holden.

In the next few weeks this car will be on the back burner for a little while as i have another paying job to do. I really wanted to keep at it, but obviously a paying job will help fund this car, so it sort of takes priority. It'll definately get finished, but it'll just be set back a bit. I need to finish getting the car in Epoxy primer so it can sit without getting surface rust while i do this other car. Then i will assemble the body so i havn't got its panels lying around all over the place.

I have a rusted 66 Chevelle to fix. It needs an entire floor pan from front to back (apart from the hump over the diff and the tunnel). The body is pretty good (it's had an American "resto") but the floors are rusted out. In true American form, as long as it's shiny on the outside the rest doesn't matter :p

I will post some progress pics is anyone is interested.
