Hi,

I am about to purchase a package of 18 inch wheels and I have sourced them from different suppliers.

I have a choice of Nankang NS2, Federal or Maxis Tyres.

Which brand of tyres should I go for ???

The package prices are all around about the same.

CHEERS

I run Kuhmo Supra Ectas and they seem to be the best value for money, great in the wet or dry, a little soft but maybe its my driving style? I go through the rears every 6 months

I have these same tyres in 18" i have no problems with them.
I do 70,000 K/ms a year and these tyres have been on for 9 months and still in good condition
Prices range from $230- $290
With those cheap import tyres, they are cheap for a reason oscillator_1 why spend $1000's on wheels and wrap them in crap ?

The Maxxis tyres absolutely crap all over Kuhmo Ecstas.
Have you had any of these tyres on a car? You only have
to see where Kuhmo consistantly end up in tyre tests
to see that they are garbage, and yes I have had them
on my car (couldn't wait to get them off).

Oscillator...Give the Maxxis a go, you wont be dissapointed.
I have tested them in the dry, in the wet and at speeds
well over 200kph and they stick like **** to a blanket.
Finished third in a prominant magazine tyre test recently
as well.

Hmmmm... didn't the Kumho 769 win the tyre test last year??? and didn't the KU19 feature in this years test - an achievement in itself as they only test the 'pick of the bunch'. Isn't this the same reason that Kumho are now control tyres for the HQ racing series which give them rave reviews over Bridgestone, and are now control tyres for F3, not to mention Targa Tas winners?

Personal opinion aside - they are not bad tyres and are good value for money.

Are these Kuhmo Supra Ecsta's you are referring to?
Which test is this that they won, would't mind having
a look. Maybe these new models have improved, but
the Ecsta's I had were shocking. I couldn't even
change hard into second gear at 70kph without them
going up in smoke.
