:b: i bought a vk calais v8,i got to the nearest petrol station my car stalled, then wouldn't start again so i had to tow it home. Also it kept draining my battery while it was running, could this problem be my alternator or my wiring harness, cause my harness doesn't look too good, and my dash doesn't work too.
ANY HELP IS REALLY APPRECIATED THANKS.. :b:

I saw your post in the electrical section,

Is your dash a mechanical or electronic?

To troubleshoot why your battery is getting drained is normally pretty easy.

First of all, you need to check to see what devices would be using power

does the car have an aftermarket stereo, if so make sure it isnt connected incorrectly draining power.
Make sure your boot light is turning off when the boot is closed along with the glovebox.

cheers

Sorry my bad here :b:
I didnt read your post properly, if its draining your battery whilst running odds are your alternator isnt charging correctly. It could be simply a blown regulator etc or it could be underpowered.

With a stock EFI VK it really should have a 55amp alternator with any mods requiring more electrical power I suggest using an 85amp.

For all your VK wiring diagram needs check out http://members.westnet.com.au/scottl/howto/wiringdiagrams/
