What have you been working on in the car? This happens alot when people pull the dizzy out and put it in 180 degrees out.

naw, first thing we thought of :)

Have spark, can hear injectors clicking, wont kick on start-ya-bastard.....

In other words, looks like a complete loss of compression but I just cant believe all 8 would go at once......

We were screwing around with the sump off (clearing blocked oil pickup), is there anything down there that we mightve stuffed?

Yeh, we've changed the dizzy cover/leads, but after this problem cropped up. We were careful with the timing, I guess we could check it again but like I said we had this issue before changing it out.

Quite literally, we were running it in very short spurts (priming new oil pump after clearing the pickup) and then suddenly it wouldnt even cough.

Something has gone bang.

Not directly, altho we can hear the injectors ticking with a stethoscope, and can hear the fuel pump charging as per normal.

Wouldnt it kick on start-ya-bastard though?

Unplug the inbound fuel line from the rail, and bloody well check it ^_^ That's the only way to be sure XD

I had the same problem...i replced the ignition module, distributor and coil. When i was replacing the coil i noticed part of the wiring loom was jammed between the gearbox and back of the motor, spent a whole lot of money replacing stuff to have it be something i did myself when replacing the clutch i just cut soldered, lengthened and wrapped all the wires back up put it back together and it fired...wasn't impressed.

Actually, that might be a possibility - we did jack up the front of the motor slightly (removed crossmember to get to sump), I guess we couldve crushed a loom somewhere?
