    DOD is required on all new V8's from all manufacturers acording to the euro3 emmision laws. They said the front wont change dramatically from the VZ because the crewman and adventra VZ will still be on sale alongside the VE for at least 12 months after the VE launches.

    Wrong. The L76 6.0L V8 in the VZ from Jan 1 does not have DOD (or 'Active Fuel Management' in GM speak) technology, but it is still Euro 3 compliant. Holden has chosen not to 'activate' this technology on the engine before the VE shows up, probably because they want to be able to spruke about improved fuel economy in the VE when it arrives. Variable Valve Timing will also arrive on the L76 in the VE.
