No Crank :(

Hey so iv been working on a 97 VS Calais with a LB9 5l v8 and getting no crank, starter replaced and i checked that it is getting power but still no crank, the cars been sitting for about a year or so (fresh battery in car) but they keys battery is dead, iv tried swapping the start and ingintion relay and still no crank,.... im abit stuck any ideas?

Can you bridge the power and signal wires on the starter and it turns over?

Auto or manual?

Try placing the key in the ignition, turn to ignition on, and then leave the key with the dash lights on for 60 minutes. After that time, don't remove the key, just turn it to the start position and see if it cranks and starts. You may have an immobiliser problem. If that doesn't work, try displaying your error codes as described in the link below and post up the results.
