series 1 headlights will only fit on series 1 bumper.. and series II . will only fit on series II bumper.

Nope, they look the same from a distance but get close and the have different angles.

That's right, that was my initial impression, but on closer inspection, nope there slightly different. I just can't Beleive there isn't any available yet, kind of rediculous as more and more sports wagons are getting brought.

But one thing I wonder about - with these imitation ones, is there a chance that my insurance company might refuse to cover me if I have an accident where someone runs up the back of me? I've never bought non-genuine parts before...any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated

Yes there is more than a chance... but ask your insurer. When you get your comprehensive insurance they ask if any mods done and tell you if you mod later on then you must notify them of what's done.
