So VT is the same as WH ?
I did wonder that, but lots of sellers list them separately...

Yep. ;)
Maybe they are listing WH separately to get sales from those who are unaware.
Same panel, same underhood insulation, same weight, same strut.
Trunk struts, not sure. I think WH are heavier. Probably the same as VT with spoiler..?

Most VT/VX parts are the same as WH parts.

wh2 statesman
hi, i have a wh2 statesman which has been mildly modified by it's second owner.(business in Traralgon-Canberra -now Bendigo). mine has an otr( cold air) air cleaner, pedder rear springs (still standard height- the second owner towed a boat around Canberra and to queensland), and cosmetically individual rocker covers (not the clam shell).there are a couple of other minor mods. it's a 5.7ltr.LS1, Gen3 with overhead gear that rattles on startup. it's a barge in comparison to my previous ride a 1994 SAAB 9000 Aero 5spd manual, but with the Achilles tyres at licence loss speeds is more stable than my Brock Magnum WB equivalent. one thing I dislike intensely is GM's stupid handbrake arrangement. The WB's handbrake was far more efficient. I would forget the cd stacker and replace the system with something that has Bluetooth included and use an mp3 player that plugs into the cigarette lighter and plays through the radio. up to a max 4gB of music-much more efficient. SO GO FOR IT ---IT'S A LOT OF CAR FOR THE MONEY AND BETTER VALUE THAN A CALAIS and spend money on the REAL essentials. you can buy an OBD scanner for about $60 from eBay or Dino Direct or a chinese TECHII which is the same as from GM-H for about $US350+shipping with the Holden card and TIS2000 key. I have 3 OBD scanners. love that car. cheers.

Yeah i'm wondering what mods to do (to get it sounding like a v8 should) and also for .. more efficient running ;)

What would i need an OBD scanner for?

I'm wondering if i should take the CarPC out of the Soarer i have currently, and fit it into the WH somehow.. but that's a lot of work again lol... and i don't want to molest this car too much...

hi, the otr give the engine better breathing and the exhaust has a slightly heavier rumble, get a 3" cat back system (not an attraction for the boy's in blue-- sorry black -- if you're in Victoria). most exhaust shops can fit them at a reasonable cost. OBD scanners help diagnose problems. there are a couple of excellent books on the topic, worthwhile reading. you can buy a HUD off eBay for between $AU45 and $AU75 I have 2, a W02 and a W03. (2 different cars WH2 statesman and a 1998 9-5 SAAB) suggest you do your due diligence on OBD and HUD devices. the HUD units display speed, revs, temp, battery voltage, distance to empty(DTE), instantaneous fuel consumption. the HUD's work on vehicles with an OBD@ connector(16pin) the wh2 has this connector. love that car. cheers.

You'll have heaps of room for a touchscreen display in the WH.

I've owned a VR statesman in the past and I now own a LS1 WK statesman and they are great cars. IMO, wouldn't own any other Long wheel base sedan other than a statesman. The styling is better than what the competition offers in it's class too (AU Fairlane and LTD)

Yeah I forget they have the rounded facia. Most aftermarket double dins fit without much trouble, but the ones that stick out can be problematic.

As for zorsts, I've got pacemaker extractors and a twin 2 1/2 inch manta system with high flow cats and front hotdogs. It sounds great on my WK. Not too loud either and doesn't drone.

hi, I have a jvc av60bt, no longer available, and ground out the r/h top corner with a dremel type grinder. remember though that plastic is not like steel cannot be welded so take your time and only grind small amounts. redback systems are good(dear), pacemaker are also good(cheaper) depends on what you want so talk to your local exhaust specialist as everyone is different. I occasionally slam my wh2 in first outside built up areas and with the OTR(cold intake) and the 3"catback it bellows. the Victorian hoon laws mean that this can only be on rare occasions. it really bellows. had a little old lady doing 30kph in a current lancer hatch in a 60 zone as I overtook slammed the wh2 and hopefully she got the message. don't recommend that all the time though. love that car.cheers
