Putting the new door handle on today.
No more crawling over seats to open the door :)

Ran the power wire for my amp today.
From the battery, through the front guard, in behind the kick panel, under the the door sills,
up, around and down the back seat and into the boot via the split seat opening.

That'll do for today......

Finally fitted the amp and finished installing the rest of the wiring.....except for the speaker connections.
Need a new soldering iron.

There a reason you went through the guard?

Yes mate. As you would be aware, there is very little access to the cabin from the engine bay.
It keeps the engine bay clear and clean of excess wiring. Looks more professional as well, as it can be hidden extremely well.
Access to the driver's side guard is right next to the battery and the wire is able to come out near the door hinges, then, behind where the door loom
comes out of the body to the door, there is a spare hole with a grommet in it.
This goes in behind the kick panel and it is just a matter of running the wire/s under the plastic door sill trim to the boot.
I passed it through the guard in 2 stages. From near the battery to the side indicator, then from there to the door hinges.
Just used a piece of coat hanger wire with a hook on the end for a pull through.

I have a manual and don't have the spare clutch grommet any way.

I did a 'How to' on it a while ago https://forums.justcommodores.com.a...inside-car-vt-vx-may-work-other-models.210577 and originally passed the wire through the door wiring grommet, until someone pointed out the hole behind it.

I know some might say...."what if the guard has to come off"?
Well I'll cross that hurdle if and when I come to it.
Besides, I've used different coloured wire for different things so it's just a matter of matching, cutting and rejoining if necessary.

Fair enough... personally I haven't used the clutch grommet in a long time as I use another one.

way over in the corner. One on each side. Big loom already coming out of it. Exits in the cabin to the right of throttle. Can also run the power cable with the rest(under) the harness out of sight for the most part. If I had a commodore I'd show you... Think I have one booked in over the next few days. Not that it matters now, but I'll grab a picture or two.

Well it was up until yesterday.

Found that the front left speaker wire between the H/U and the body grommet was making a very slight connection to ground.
That upset the whole speaker system.
By passed said wire and ran a new one to the speaker.
All done....all good.
