Would look better chromed. Can you chrome aluminium?

Yes you can.....apparently.
They probably would look better chromed.
Although, using the correct technique, it's almost possible to
get the same effect by polishing, as the rest of the engine,
the manifold, rocker covers etc are all polished.

Just thought powder coating would break up all the shiny bits
and it's less to polish.

depending on how dirty it is, it takes me over an hour to properly clean the engine bay
and polish the engine and adding more to polish adds extra work.

Besides, the chroming place is just over an hour's drive away.

I guess if they were powder coated they would be the same colour as the cover cap, throttle brackets and OTR fascia? From the looks of it they would also cover your fuel rails, which is probably a vote against ... They are schmik looking rails.

I'm still in two minds as to whether I'll keep them on.
In one sense, the rails do come up good with a polish.
But then the injectors stick out and tend to spoil the look imo.

With them fitted, they cover up the polished rails and I think maybe too much.

Anyway, I'll put up a picture today and get your opinions.

I'm on the fence.
Looks good with or without them.
It is a pity to cover those fuel rails.
If you decide against, you could always put them on eBay and make a few bucks.....

Yeah. Looks more like an engine without. Maybe you could tidy and sleeve the injector wiring?
