over-powering slimline sub bad?

Ok, so I'm working out the stereo for my yet-to-be-purchased dual cab ute. Looking at a slimline sub and powering with a 2 channel amp bridged.
The sub is a 10" slimline 4ohm, with a max power of 800W and RMS rated at 200W.
The amp is putting out 760W peak and 380WRMS bridged at 4ohm.

If ya can be bothered, the actual units im looking at are here:
Ryda Car Audio - Pioneer GM-5400T 2 Channel Car Amplifier($239.85)
Ryda Car Audio - Pioneer Car Audio TS-SW251 10" Subwoofer($218.85)

My questions are, is there anything wrong with overpowering this particular sub (or any) by 180W? Any other problems I might have with this setup?

300W bridged at 4ohms. I like the price too!

If you tune the system right then no it won't hurt the sub at all. Also it is better to have 'headroom' with amps as this means the amp won't be 'maxing out' so to say, basically it will be jogging not running.

The Kenwood amp will work as well. Also have a look at this, Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - Ground Zero Iridium GZIA 2125HPX .

As long as you set the gain right on the amp, you won't overpower it with even the biggest amp

Thanks guys. Yeah i had heard of before that I can use a higher power amp, but was just wondering if there was a limit to how far I can go. Keeps my options wide open

Just keep your ears open... If the bass starts to sound a bit funny, like no longer smooth, you're running it too hard and it will cook.
