1990 Holden Nova SLX Twin Cam. 3spd Auto (got my licence on an auto), 100% stock, 1 little old lady owner. We bought it in '98 from the local holden dealer for $10k with 49,000km on the clock for my older brother to learn to drive on, but he was still getting over an incident the previous summer when he had a very bad driving lesson in the family's EBII Falcon GLi and lost his nerve. Dad used it as a runabout, Dad still was traumatised from THAT driving lesson so Mum taught me, and got lessons from driving school as well. I got my P's on 28 March 2000, last few months of the old NSW non-logbook system. Got 68/70 on the test......parents were paranoid about road safety, so I was kept on very tight leash. I paid $500 for 'usage rights'. For a 1.6L the car drank like a fish! Memorable incident was putting it into a cement pole under the local RSL early 2002. I remained a very bad parker until the latter half of the '00s.....
Car was traded when I was given a 2000 Toyota Corolla Conquest Seca 1.8 Auto as a gift when mum retired in '02 (brother got a 2001 Mazda 323 Astina 1.6 Auto). Mum and dad got $4500 trade. We both lived away on uni campus and the public transport sucked. My brother however did not get his licence until 5th January 2004. That 2000 Corolla was used on many a driving lesson around Newcastle during 2003.....but my good work went to waste, driving school taught brother a whole heap of non-driving crap and within 4 days his '01 astina had a lovely bashed in sill as he took a shortcut through a council garden bed. To this day the stobie pole is still bent over, a constant reminder of my brother's crap driving
(I have no pics of these cars digitised...)
