Fit a weber on rather than the holly it will use less fuel, be more drivable when cold and around town, and flat out go about the same.
i pulled off a 350 and fitter a weber years ago to a vk i had, best thing i did to it

I've got a warm red 202 in my VC, with a 350 holley and I removed the choke completely...Idles perfectly from cold start up to warm shut down. IMA, I mainly drive it around town

I recently drove from S.A to Bundaberg in QLD...Fuel cost $350 + initial fill...

So as for being expensive on fuel and cruddy idle at any stage....Rubbish

I can't quite make out the tyres you have. On my first VB, I had Bridgestone Eagers with the white writing

I had a 78 VB 202 back in the early 90's. Bought stock and added a Holley 350, extractors & 14x7 mags with 245/50/14 tyres.

Pic quality bad coz 1990 analogue style !!

Dad always had an Aunger louvre on his cars in the 70s & 80s.

Get a four barrel manifold and run a quadrajet ( used to get reds to rev over 8000 with these ) , 35/75 cam and a 149 high comp head with 2.02 inlets in it :) Gotta have extractors too :D

Yeh well I'm not really looking at the motor for now...will be a massive expense I cannot afford right now.

Looking for something a bit cheaper. Right now I am thinking a set of period 14 inch alloys (so I can use my existing tyres) or swaybars or something like that.

Got a period Caltex CX-3 bumper sticker, fitted it.

Have won a 1980 Sydney Motor Show sticker on eBay, waiting for it to come.
