Hey muggie,

Looks like you're getting data, but there is only a small sample. You must have had the car running for only a short time. Also, the figures seem strange. Are you sure you've selected the 127808 ECU in the winaldl configuration section?

This software is an analysis tool which enables you to see what your car's computer sees. You really need to run his software while the car is being driven in order to gather data of any use, so you'll really need a laptop.

There's other people on this board who know heaps more about this than me, and there's been a lot written up about it. Go through some of the other posts and you should learn heaps.

Here's a start.

Good luck.

Hey Chuff, on the set up how many boxes do you select.
Like Raw Data, Sensor etc or the four boxes before you start.

Thanks,
muggie

I select everything, then once I have the file I load it into Excel and/or Access and filter accordingly.

Hey muggie,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Been way busy with work and all.

I'm no expert but from what I can see the data looks fine. I used WinALDL mainly to check that the sensors were reading correctly when I was having some problems my my VP.

I haven't gone into it in depth, but the program has the ability to log BLM and INT changes which is what the ECU uses in order to calibrate the fuel to meet the right A/R ratio. This is probably the bit that will help the most if you want to know what changes to make to your mappings.

There is heaps on info on this subject now, so surf this site and start learning. It's going to take some time.

Good luck.

Hey chuff, just a few questions on winaldl. Had a run for about 20minutes around town and while I was checking I had these come up.
On flag data EST mode flashes off and on.
On the flag data A/C fan request on
On the flag data set switch on
On the flag data Power Steering Power switch on
On the flag data Trans over temp on
On the flag data Park/neutral on
On the flag data Aldl mode on
On the flag data Closed loop mode on.
Have spent day's searching and can not find any reference to the above requests.
Any help would be appreciated. Have attached small file for you to have a quick look at.

Hey muggie,

Ive compared some of my WinALDL data to yours and can report the following:

On flag data EST mode flashes off and on.

I get the same. Don't know why it changes.

On the flag data A/C fan request on

I get the same.

On the flag data set switch on

Don't know which one you're talking about here.

On the flag data Power Steering Power switch on

I get the same. Indicates the power steering is noticed by the ECU. Used by BCM to control progressive steering power so that at slow speeds steering is easy and at higher speeds steering firms up.

On the flag data Trans over temp on

I get the same. Don't know why.

On the flag data Park/neutral on

I get the same. 0 when in neutral or park, otherwise 1.

On the flag data Aldl mode on

I get the same. Always true while reading ALDL data.

On the flag data Closed loop mode on.

On & off based on whether or not the car is running in Closed Loop.
