Door mirror switch?
remove door trim, push behind the switch to pop out from trim, then wiggle plug out the back of switch, not down.

Power Mirror switch is just clipped into the console,
Carefully pry it out, and the press the tab on the side of the plug
The Power Mirror Switch and Window Switch are one unit,
As I had to replace mine last year, because the Drives door up button would get stuck internally and you hear the window clicking in the up mode.
If you need one, Wreckers have an abundance of them here in Melbourne,
If you can not locate one in NSW,
ring around here in Vic, or check out eBay [that's were I got my new one]

Woulda thought this was sorted by now but am I reading this wrong, or are the VY VX switches not on the door trim like the VT VZ
How do I disconnect the wiring from the control switch?

8 day old post so would think you have worked it out by now.
If you are referring to the switch on the drivers door, simply pop the switch off the door trim with a small screw driver, lift the u shaped tab, and lever the connector with same small driver.
