I plan on using Vortex (Caltex/Woolworths) in my Alloytec V6, on my first tank now. There are two versions, I am going with the lesser one -- better than standard unleaded and still with an Octane rating of 95.

Oh and with LPG when I start using that around 5,000km (as per advise, run only petrol until then), I'll use 100% propane from Supagas -- better than the "whatever" mix you get at most service stations.

I'm using premium in my Sv6, like archers find it runs a lot better and i don't really mind paying the extra 5 or so bucks per tank

My LS1 really don't care, if anything runs better on 91.

If you're car isn't tuned for high octane, there ain't much in it.

Exactly. The car really needs to be tuned on 98 for it to make much difference.

When all you guys say "runs better" define it more, power... economy... or whatever you think runs better means. My friend runs his sv6 on that E10 stuff from Shell, I run mine on RON 91 from United my other mate who has an sv6 just mix and matches (or so he says) and everyone seems say it runs fine, we need definitions really.... and it dosent help when Holden dealers say the engine has being designed to run on E10 fine..

lets see some reasons, along with the fuel type to make more sense of things.
