It will be a TR6060 using a single mass flywheel. The changeover was in 2012 so provided the gearbox wasn’t changed for a dual mass flywheel setup (pretty sure no one would ever do that as it’s more expensive and mechanically weaker) then that’s what it will be.

Pollushon’s post earlier in the thread shows the easy way to tell the difference between SMF and DMF (below).

After a bit of googling seems there two types. Early and late model, difference is input shafts, dual vs single mass. The Commodores share the same ratios, different OEM do not

Probably also worth posting these here too on the physical differences/similarities between the various boxes, probably more use to those wanting them for conversions but anyway. I probably should've taken more photos but they're big clunky things to move around.

I was told mine had a 6060, but pretty certain it's a T56. Mal Wood said there a 14 variations of the 6060 in the VE/VF line up and to tell you need to check the TUET number. I went looking with a camera thinking it was a label on top. Turns out the number is on a tag IIRC and my tag is missing. Hahahaha

Oh, OK, cheers I'll try and have another look with the inspection camera at some point.

Is the TR6060 a better gearbox than the T56?

What was the benefit of using a dual mass flywheel, as in why would Holden do that?
