Well on my 235/45R17s I used to run at 40 usually, mainly h'way driving. Or 38 for twisty stuff. Started off at 36, but my tyre bloke suggested 40 as I did mostly h'way and 36 was too low. Now run 38 on the 245/45R18 (or are VEs 245/40R18???) as a mixed driver. I think that's what the placard says as well. That's my 2c.

Most tyres have the recommended maximum and minimum pressures shown on the tyre sidewall. I always run my tyres up near the recommended maximum pressure for the best fuel economy and long tyre life.

manufacturer ratings =/= what you said.

I usually run a few pound over.

I run 41 PSI on 235 35 19

But for the OP, 37-39 should suffice

Base it on tyre wear as well. If the edges are wearing, it's too low, if the center is wearing it's too high. I used to run at 38 on my 205/65/R15, but now with my 235/40/R18 I run 36 and they are wearing perfectly.
