Buying a new car and want to put it in my grandmothers name as it not going to be a daily, just an occasional cruiser. She doesn't have a licence can she have a car in her name?

It can go in my name but I don't want to be paying 600+ for registration when it's not going to be used that often, I'd rather pay 300 for registration. As I'm already paying 1200+ a yr for 2 cars

He's talking about paying $1500 instead of $1800 on rego for 3 cars, of which he can only drive one on the road at a time. It's not exactly rorting the system, more like restricting the amount the system rorts him

Don't forget if ever you need or want to put it back into your name you then have the RWC hassle and transfer fees, just some thing to consider.
