it seems to me that this one would be more for middle east or Europe group, as i've seen more group a's and walkys on the rd here than them.

I'd be interested to know just how powerful that 2.5L is compared to the Ecotec....

According to my reference (45 Years of Holden), the 2.6 put out 110kw, running a compression ratio of 9.2:1. It was an in-line six from Opel and was developed for export only, though not specifically NZ only. All were made with the 4L60 with a taller first gear than the Australian versions (2.40:1 instead of 3.06:1). The final drive ratio was 3.7:1 instead of the local 3.08:1.

Yea but this is the 2.5L V6 quite a different motor. The inline 6 one there are a few around NZ but this V6 2.5L one is the only one i've seen.

Yep, the original reference to the 2.5 was in a VS. Unfortunately, my book was printed during the production of the VR, so it's no good for info on the 2.5. My mistake.

A mate of mine has a HSV Vn Berlina wagon....with a V6 engine lol it's genuine.

Also on the panel van thing, there is a talc mine up in the north of south oz where I used to get sent to service their earthmoving machinery. They had a pristine HR 3 door ambulance there which only had about 5,000 miles on the odo. It was a requirement because of the remoteness of the mine site, and had been there since that model was new. Last time I saw it was in the early 90s, still there. It never actually got used.

SV3800 Wagon, or a HSV enhanced berlina wagon. Not really rare.

I don't know, it's got an HSV number on it somewhere apparently. Still just another VN shopping trolley to me. My old VN Berlina wagon with 5L and T5 was much more fun.
