Don't by pass the radiator, most people think the fluid runs through the rad for cooling not completely true. it's main function is to actually heat the fluid.
if you by-pass the radiator and just fit a big cooler, in winter your gearbox might not ever reach proper operating temperature. the idea is the coolant from the engine transfers some heat into the fluid passing through the coil in the rad and warms it up to help the gearbox reach operating temp faster.
