I received an upgraded 150A 14v alternator in the post but the 'B' terminal has broken off the mounting plate :(

Can this be repaired? Any suggestions as to workaround to make it work?

Seal it back together with JB weld.

Mix it up, put jb weld on it and tape to hold it, leave it for 10-24 hours and it should be good to go.

Ok thanks heaps, will definitely look into this but the one thing that bothers me is the importance of good conductivity at the repair join, being the main earthing point.

I didn't think it was an earth point, i figured the bolt was the important bit and the rest was just the casing.

either way just find a metal repair mixture that will dry solid, mix up a batch and check it with a multimeter.

Hmmm, I think it's stuffed because the B Terminal post is the main output from the alternator to the battery.
What a waste!

Didn't say it was used to bond aircraft alloy (which it wasn't).
And as far as I know, it doesn't meet aircraft structural bonding specifications.
Just said it was used in the industry.
There are better structural compounds available.
But hey, don't knock it if you haven't tried it.
