Hey all want to replace my seatbelts in my ve 2008 series 1 found a place that sells custom seat belts that are safety approved, but they don’t sell the whole unit just the belt, the bottom mount the buckle, and the other end of the belt is just left loose. Is it possible to replace just the belt in a seat belt unit? Also so everyone knows the current seat belt is in perfect working order, purely a cosmetic upgrade. Link to the website that’s sells them-https://blackorgreen.com/index.php?route=information/contact/success

It should be possible, I'm not familiar with the VE units but I know on the earlier models it can be done. In my case the reel unit was buggered so they fitted my original belt (from the broken reel) onto a new reel.

Ahh gives me hope, do you think if it’s a different unit and not as easy an upholster would be able to do it?

I don't think that company you have referenced is in Australia.
Yes, it is possible to reweb (new webbing) seat belts if the rest of the hardware is in good working order.
Where I used to work does aviation belts, which is to a higher standard, but won't touch car belts as there is too much State Govt paperwork BS.
There is a company in Perth that is approved ................. https://seatbeltsolutions.com.au/.

I would take it to a seat belt specialist, they should be able to do it on the spot. As a safety device I don't recommend doing it yourself but after seeing it done it shouldn't be difficult assuming it's assembled the same as earlier seatbelt units.

You take the belts in to them, they replace the webbing with the colour of your choice.

Well that’s generally how it’s done.

Not that I have found.
We have two here in WA, rat belt solutions will be the best option.

There’s another in Brissie
https://www.seatsafe.com.au/

To do this kind of work, it must be done by licensed businesses.

You remove the seatbelts, post them registered mail to the licensed repairer of your choice.

They post them back and you have your new colour belts all done and certified. Reinstall to the car.

It’s not a straight forward job to remove the seatbelts in a VE. You’ll be quite surprised at how much has to come out to get to them all.

Roof stays in. Front seats stay.
