my boss has a mate that does the aqua blasting hes done some old 32 ford intake manifolds makes em look brand new n smooth unlike sandblasting

Glass bead blasting does a great job on cast alloy too.

You can also try a bit of "Bar keepers Friend" on a wet green scourer or steel wool and give it a rub. It should bring it up a treat.
( i think its powdered oxalic acid )

Tried oven cleaner a second time and it really didn't come up great. Gonna try the Bar Keepers Friend as it would seem no one does aqua blasting.

Oven cleaner is full of caustic, pretty much like paint stripper but a bit milder. No way I'd use that on an alloy surfaces. I'm surprised it didn't rip the red paint out of the Plenum.

Yeah, nah it actually made the 3800 a better red.

+1 for trying BKF ... and the wife will love you when you use it on the pots and pans ...
