Although this information is correct for a lot of subwoofers, it's too broad and not very accurate. It all comes down to the individual sub and the specifications of it.Depends what you are after.
A sealed box is smaller, faster, But doesnt go as low.
A ported box is larger, Tune it to a certain frequency, Goes stupidly low, Can produce muddle audio if build incorrectly.

This isn't correct, some subs will play better / more linear in a ported box and be better for SQ, some the other way round.Ported.
Pro - Great for SPL.
Con - You loose music quality.(SQ)
Pro - Good all round, Can't really go to wrong with sealed.(build wise)
Con. Does not go as low, If you are after that.
I always go by.
Ported for SPL.
Selaed for quality.
