seatbelt chime at start up

When I got my car it would chime when i started it with the seatbelt icon flashing.
The seatbelt icon still apears, but no sound.

Im kinda glad because that sound was annoying as hell, but i still cant help but wonder what happened to it?

Do you still get the other chimes, low fuel. handbrake on etc?

Sounds like a malfunction.I'm not even sure if there is a chime associated with the seatbelt,as far as I know, there is only a chime for the handbrake, low fuel and over speed.

I think Miss-E means the airbag / seatbelt pretensioner fault chime. You're lucky if you haven't heard that chime, many of us are familiar with that chime every time we start the car.

I still get the low fuel chime, I get that one too often.
Im not sure about the handbrake.

So chimes when the car starts is a bad thing?

That indicates that a fault code has been logged on the computer. So there maybe a problem with airbags or seatbelt pretensioners. You have to take it to holden to clear the code so the chime will stop. They can also check to see if there is a problem.
The handbrake chime comes on if your handbrake is not completely off whilst you are moving.

Come to think of it, the chime stopped after I got it serviced at metro holden. I wish they had told me instead of letting me think my seat belt reminder chime had broken.

After thinking about it for a while I was going to ask if you had your car serviced, as they could have reset it.
