Can anyone tell me if the SS side vents actually connect to something? If they connect to the engine bay they probably do not much. However, I would sure feel better knowing they actually did something rather then being just fake go faster cosmetics. In any case they look heaps better than the useless nostrils on the Monaro.

No they are are purely cosmetic (and look bloody stupid
imho). The nostril bonnet actually looks better on the
sedans than the 2 door I reckon. Have seen a few
getting around now with this mod, and am giving it
serious consideration myself. I just got my front end
resprayed to, so I might tell the wife about this mod
over the phone :hit:

Despite popular misconception, the vents on the monaro do work to some degree, letting out heat that the mighty GenIII makes, therefore better cooling, if only a little.

I believe it can be made to fit with some modification.

How does the heat come out? I thought they were
just stick on. You can actually buy them from Holden
and stick them on any model.
BTW: If you really want to let some heat out, remove
the rubber seal at the top of the firewall, you will
be amazed how much hot air pours out of there ;)

Whether it's the monaro bonnett or the guard vents,
they are both cosmetic. I think you can remove
the flutes from the bonnet and make it functional,
but it aint gonna let much hot air out, just cool air
and dirt in.
