VE SS
I have a 2006/7 VE SS and it has a HSV flat bottom steering wheel. Inside the engine bay is riveted a HSV compliance plate for the steering wheel.
Can anyone help me out if it’s anything special? After market or limited factory release?
is there a website that will verify VIN and supply information on individual cars?
The nsw rego papers have the word ‘ limited ‘ in the detail and build info.
Ps: Full leather interior and It’s only just reached 107,000km.
Thoughts?

HSV plate or HSVi plate?
SSV's also had flat bottomed wheels.

Thanks for reply Imoengnr.
I’m 99% it’s HSVi.
Im not near car until the morning.
All paperwork seems to say SS.
( tried to upload pics but not working. Ill try again soon )
The plate is riveted to what I’d call radiator support. Passenger side.
I’ve got another 2006 VE 6lt 6 speed.
ive noticed they have different radiator supports.
The rad support with the HSVi plate and wheel has no tabs on back side with holes to take the plastic cover above radiator and surrounding coolant and washer lids etc.
The other VE has these tabs and neat plastic cover. Why different ?
Hope this makes sense?

Put a pic up of the wheel mate, might help people identify it for you.

Do you mean it doesn’t have a panel like this one?
Don’t think they were fitted standard?

Sounds like an SS with a HSVi Plate to say an option has been added at the factory.

In the old days is was 'Holden By Design' then for the early VE's it became HSVi and you got a plate stuck to the front passenger side apron.

Holden fitted one to my VE Calais V when I optioned it with 20 inch rims and tyres.

Like this one I Googled.

At one stage there was a list of option codes on the internet that allowed you to decipher the options.

They were a standard fitment to all early VE's, I had it on my SS Ute and my Calais V and on my E Series Clubsport.

After a while Holden did what it usually did and went cheap and started to delete it from the cars.

The HSVi plate wasn't on this part, it was stuck to the support just in front of it.

You can see one in the bottom right hand corner of this photo.

Yeah I knew the plate wasn’t on there, my 09 Caprice had the HSVi plate and I bought the infill panel for that so just a little more cost cutting it seems!

Thanks mate.
After a bit more research this morning and having the car back in front of me it’s HSVi / STO. Leather flat bottom steering wheel.
I’m all over the history of HBO and HSVi as well now which is great.
Im still looking into nsw rego naming it ‘ limited’ ?
cheers again.
