The only part of this im confused about is "keys still in it"

Doesnt this warrant the insurance company denying the claim altogether????.....if the car was damaged that is.

In the original post secki says 'the thief obviously saw him park the car and watched where he put his keys. Lesson to be learnt for all!'

That's why the keys were in the car.

no his house keys were in it in the glove box, the car key was in the towel, in a bag, under a surf board cover on the beach
