Stop clear coat hazing/spots

I had a VR some years ago which had RS paint. The panelbeater told me that the paint used by Holden during VP and VR production was a cheap and substandard acrylic which led to early failure, particularly in metallics. It wasn't just the clear used on metallic paints - his message was that all paint colours were substandard.

Apparently that paint was an issue that plagued only base models. Have had VR statesman/caprices before and they're definitely 2 pack. Can check with some thinner and a rag - if colour comes off (solid colours only) then paint is acrylic. If no colour comes off and paint is unaffected, it's 2 pack.
