Was that the radio circuit? Clock is in the headunit on vt, l assume the same vz?
Yes, that would be correct, but I have now spoken to 240 volt mate again and he is bringing his multi meter over cause mine may not be multiying as it should meter.
I did cross the test wires the other day and the red test lead got rather hot rather quickly so I may have broke it.Oops:rolleyes:

OK I have found I blew the fuse in the multimeter so replaced it, and the mate came over with his multimeter which he had already dropped when getting it out of the cupboard and found both his fuses were blown and could not get replacements so

It appears the .15 I tested at is 150milliamps so that is not good.

Fu, I watched your latest video and honestly, that is outa my league.
I think I will just keep playing and testing, see what happens.

Well, did some more testing and this time not only blew the fuse in the multimeter but melted part of the case as well. Ho bloody Ho
My electrician (240 volt) mate is gonna have another go but I told him to keep me away from his multimeter
He also has a manual for VT to VZ cause he still owns the VT he has had since new so that might help.
Naturally he is a lot more switched on with sparks than I am.
I just keep fusing and melting things.

Amazing.
Even with melted plastic multimeter case and the bits of solder that dropped out, I put a fuse in it and it still works.
Went to lunch with sparky and his wife today, a Wednesday thing, and when we were leaving he
handed me the Ellerys manual and his analogue meter and said see you tomorrow BUT
Read the book, don't touch the bloody meter.
Beginning to think he has no faith in me.o_O

OK the last word on this testing.

The very old J Car multimeter had in fact suffered internal damage so it went in the bin.
Got a new J Car meter at great cost, hobbyist meter at $8 on special, which did what we needed and showed 300milliamps draw on test start/spike
but dropped to 160milliamps from there.
Eventually we found the bcm fuse removed made the meter sit at 30milliamps, so must assume the bcm is drawing the power.
Am I going any further ? no.
I am just going to test the volts on the new battery every couple of days and see what transpires.

Thanks again for every ones help.

Hmmm, no.
Will try that this morning.
Never say never.

edit.. Thinking about this further, I wonder how that actually works because
the minute I connect the test leads this puts power into the bcm because the security lights on dash and radio start flashing. ??
