hey people,

just after some advise from some of the LSx Gods on here.

i have an LS1, i have a Harrop HTV2300 ready to be bolted on. i was going to get the blower fitted first then stroke it later down the track. im now starting to think get it done at the same time to try cut down on $$$.

my question is, what are some good stroker kits going around nowa days. i have done little research tonite, im tired and give up looking for now.

your help will be greatly appreciated

Cut down on $$$, well a good stroker bottom end will set you back a good 8-9k
Mind you with a stroker and a blower it will fry the tyres pretty bad.
IMO best way to do a stroker is start with an LS3 block and go 408 or 416.
Personaly i don think its worth the money to stroke a LS1 to 383.

Good post.

Kingston, have you not discussed the planned build with your tuner? Surely they'd see the merit in starting with a larger (new) engine, and going from there, rather than wasting time/money on stroking an LS1.

Also if you go down the Blown path budget for a Surge tank and fuel system with Bosch 044 pumps etc.
That on its own could cost up to $2500
The stock fuel system is a joke and not up to the task either.

im just seeing if its worth stroking this or buyin a bigger motor and fitting the blower onto that.

IMO put it on what you already have then save on the side to build a motor in the background then when you have that built put the blower on that.
Or simply sell me that blower :D

Biggest drama is probably manifold is to suit LS1 and not the latter model heads am i correct in saying that?
Is so then it may work out cheaper to stroke what you got cause im sure the manifolds for that blower aint cheap either.

i was planing to build a motor on the side for the long run. was just seeing what other people would do. this is my first car i'v done up and im only a young fella learning about cars.

i think the manifold are different. wouldnt be hard to get a new manifold of Harrop to suit the new block.
