Mate, i saw your post and had too comment so i just joined the site and this is my first post.

I originally had Maloo mufflers bolted onto the rear, they had a nice little growl but it wasn't loud enough for me.
So I contacted exhaust shops and specialists around Australia and none of them had an answer for the VE SV6 when it came to exhausts.
Don't wanna be rude TinSnips but the 2.5" is supposed to have extreme drone.

I had lost hope and had bolted off my 2 rear mufflers and replaced them with straight pipes and was planning on just putting quad tips on them.

I then heard of the XForce 2.25" System, it has been specifically produced for the V6. I had it installed on Saturday.

Dead set amazing... looks awesome! sounds great, no drone. driven at all cruising speeds. I noticed a big performance increase instantly.

I fuel my car with Shell V-Power. I filled up this morning and drove to work just like any other day. I usually sit on 12L+/100km, i was flicking through the options this arvo on my way home and got the shock of my life when i saw 9.9L/100km and a range of nearly 800km. If this is right and its knocked off at least 2L/100km then it will pay for itself in a year.

I know i only got it 2 days ago and i don't wanna speak too soon but this exhaust is great, couldn't go any other way. The only downside so far is that is isn't as loud as I'd like it to be when idling. But it should get a bit deeper and louder in a few weeks as it breaks in.

This is for a Non-SIDI SV6 though

thanks for the advice
im leaning toward the 2.25 xforce now, was thinking about though the striaght through mufflers from original parts group (ebay), i think 'sv6sidiute' has these and they sound pretty good
in regards to it being non-sidi, chris148 http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/ve-wm/130348-chriss-voodoo-blue-sv6-ute-2.html has installed the 2.25 on his SIDI and doesnt seem to have problems
i'll have to call a few exhaust places and check it out

The XForce 2.25" has straight through mufflers bud. my engine light has come on though, i'm taking it into Holden on saturday to have a look.

metalpledge - did you get a full CAT back system for $600? putting 3" pipes on a V6 surely must have caused massive power loss? due to the big loss in back pressure?
sounds pretty nice though bud

sidisv6 - nah mate i got it done at Right Price Exhausts in Brissy.

metalpledge - oh right, how come you didnt just pay the extra $150 for the full system?

for that extra $150 you would have lost both hot dogs and got a straight through center muffler.
i had a look at my old center muffler and it was covered in hot spots from the restriction in it.

future plans for my ute are a CAI and a tune so i'm happy i got the full system, should give a lot better exhaust flow. have you done anything else to yours metalpledge?

hope ya realise that when they 16rkw they acutrally mean 1 to 5 rkw

so are there any good CAI for the VE SV6's?

surely with a decent exhaust and a tune the growler would be more beneficial than 5rkw?
