Is there any difference in motors from a 5speed to a 6speed ?

Having trouble with spinning pulley once Trans in on .
What could cause this ?
Keeping in mind starter is off .

Hi Chris,

From my understanding the bolt pattern is the same, assuming you're using a 6L45 or 6L50 transmission.
However, there could be differences between the flex plate that is used between the 5 and 6 speed transmissions, which could be the reason why it's binding up.

This aside, the other main issue you may come across is having the 6 auto speed trans, being able to talk to your existing engine ECU

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,
Michael

Thank you Micheal . Appreciate your reply.
Do you think the Torque converter could be installed wrong ? As in not fully engaged in the transmission?

Thank you

It could be, however, honestly, it is hard to say anything without having a look. Your best bet would be to get a professional look to be 100% sure.

If your converter is installed wrong then the pump will be damaged as a result.
