Series 1 6.0lts are all CFP or CFR. One is for manual and the other for auto, it has nothing to do with bodystyle, etc.

Unlike V6's which start with LFX, I don't believe the letters have anything to do with much, they're just place holders basically.

VF2 V8 engines start with DGD in an auto. Not sure about manuals, I think it's DGA.

Thanks timandhaley, very interesting, is that a sedan?

They seem to have a new "DG_" code for the VFII V8's then, I suspect we will find "DGA", "DGB" & "DGC" in use for various others, I have a feeling that different shapes have their own codes, utes and/or wagons for example?

If anyone has a different V8 prefix I'd be grateful of the info, it will help greatly in identifying replacement motors etc.

I believe VF Series I V8's started with "CF_"?

I can confirm VFII V8 Sedans with Manual start with DGF

Just got my invoice for mine, pick it up Friday arvo :)

Is MRC still problematic/unreliable like it was when HSV first introduced it?

Must be a few backorders, Holden produced 3884 cars last month

As the last few months of VF saw less V8's than normal, Holden were expecting to do good run of V8's once the VFII was out there. Good to see they are turning them out.
