The entire Woolworths network is in some serious trouble and theyre making lots of very questionable decisions in storeland.

They don't necessarily need to build new stores. The hordes already flock to their existing stores. Sure, more locations means easier access for those hordes but do they want to take on the issue of the numerous co-located Bunnings & Masters stores meaning double leases/rents in the same spot for no real gain whatsoever. I can see the benefit in taking on stores where they don't have a presence.

Woolworths sold Dick Smith to private equity for some $94m. They then proceeded to list ~12 months later at a total in excess of $500m. Therein lies the PE scam.

There is no way in the world DS increased in value by that much in such a short period of time.

not sure about you stealthy, but a lot of the masters stores back home are near on next to, across the road from or within walking distance from a bunnings.
in those cases it would make minimal sense to have bunnings on both sides of the road
