Yeah funds, time, kids, work, trying to get a bike on the road...It's all fun and games here.

Keen to start on the van though, it's been sitting long enough.

Started on this today. I've only started on the interior, but thought I may as well chuck a post up.

I'm stripping this to go get blasted, then bodywork and painted. Doing the stripping in my driveway so hanging panels/doors/driveline etc will be last to come off/out. Also making an offer on a house on Monday, so the longer it's running the better.

Nothing exciting yet, but here's some pics:

Couldn't believe the amount of dust that was on everything behind the dash facia. It hasn't been off in a long time:

Gotta love backyard wiring additions. HZ column in it apparently:

Bloke I got it off said it had no choke when I bought it. This was tucked up under the dash. Bit of freeing up at the carby end and voila-choke. Dunno what the choke cables out of though:

Random switch I found in the wiring mess under the dash. Doesn't seem to do anything, haven't traced the wiring yet:

As it sits:

If oldmate had put as much effort into keeping rust away as he did putting this in, I'd be happy. Took me near half an hour just to get this out, had mounts everywhere:

Oh god, now I'm no wiring king, and I don't even claim to be good at it, but that just looks like an abomination!!!

And yes, you'd be surprised at where dust comes out of these things!

That was meant to be assembly line, damn ifail!
I just don't understand why someone would cut a huge hole in the roof to fit a sunroof, they never look good and they never stay rust free!

Are you going to replace it with some steel?

Hoping too. I'm not doing the bodywork so I'll have a talk with the panel bloke and go from there.

Might have a go at the body on my Torana when I get to it. It's better than the van, thought it's got a ####in sunroof as well...

Unfortunately, yes they are...

That said, I own both the cars and got them both at a good price. I'm hoping this house buying comes together and they get a new home.
